COTE Competition School Project

The AIA COTE Competition conducted in January of 2017, called for a design of a building that not only used wood, but met all of it's 10 measures for sustainability. The designated site meant a total redesign of the Radio Park Elementary School in State College, PA. The original brick and wood structure would be completely dismantled to create a new school. In an effort to reuse as much as possible on the site the brick was reused as thermal mass for trombe walls throughout the south side of the site. Below are the final four boards that were reviewed for the competition.
